On Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs conducted their 16th 2024 training camp practice at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.

Wide receiver Hollywood Brown and undrafted rookie offensive lineman McKade Mettauer were both injured during the team’s 26-13 preseason road loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday night; both were absent for Monday’s light, unpadded practice.

Safety Bryan Cook and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire both played on Saturday, but were also absent on Monday morning.

UPDATE AT 1:13 p.m.: After practice, head coach Andy Reid said that Edwards-Helaire was sick and that Cook had been excused from practice because “a baby is coming.”

After being held out of Saturday’s game, defensive tackle Chris Jones, tackle Wanya Morris, and wide receiver Jaaron Jayek were present at practice, but were without their helmets. They did not participate in drills.

But while wide receiver Kadarius Toney, linebacker Nick Bolton and cornerback Kelvin Joseph missed Saturday’s game, they were present and participating on Monday. So was safety Justin Reid, who was taken off the Active/NFI (non-football injury) list after passing his physical.

That leaves only defensive end Charles Omenihu (ACL) on the Active/PUP (physically-unable-to-perform) and Defensive end BJ Thompson (illness) on the Active/NFI list. Omenihu was present without a helmet, while Thompson was absent.
