The former Kentucky star and assistant coach will always bleed blue.

The Kentucky Basketball program has undergone a complete head coaching rebrand since the team last took to the hardwood.

Coach Cal out, Coach Pope in... Former Kentucky head coach John Calipari is now the head coach at the University of Arkansas.

With the move, Cal took his entire staff, including former Kentucky player Tyler Ulis.

Ulis is currently finishing school at Kentucky and is the head coach of La Familia for Kentucky’s alumni team in The Basketball Tournament.

After those two chapters close, Ulis will be leaving for an assistant coaching position with Calipari.

Ulis has really only known Kentucky and made it clear he is Kentucky through and through, no matter what.

“That’s for life. I have a Kentucky jersey tatted on my back, so I wouldn’t do that if it wasn’t something that I’m in for life. Being there and playing there, all the love the fans have given me, it’s really great. It’s been a dream come true, and we had a lot of fun there,” Ulis said in a recent interview with local media.

When asked if Ulis has talked to Coach Mark Pope he did not hesitate to show his respect for the newest head coach.

“We had one conversation early on when he first got the job. I’m happy for him as a Kentucky guy. He has a national title, so hopefully, he has something in store. We’re still supporters of Kentucky Basketball. But I have other things ahead of me with Coach Cal and my staff, so I can’t wait for that,” said Ulis.

It will be quite the change to see Ulis on the sideline for the Razorbacks, but he has been nothing but an icon for the Kentucky program since his playing days.
