The Padres battled not only the Pittsburgh Pirates, but also Mother Nature on Tuesday evening and came out victorious. After one inning of play, the Padres and Pirates waited through a two hour and forty minute weather delay, where the game nearly resumed after it stopped raining, only to go back into delay protocols because of drainage issues on the field. Once the game finally resumed, both team's starting pitchers were unable to re-take the field.

The Padres' bullpen did a fantastic job, tossing eight scoreless innings after Dylan Cease's scoreless first. Bryan Hoeing was fantastic, getting 11 outs after the lengthy delay. Jason Adam ran into some trouble in the 7th inning, but Tanner Scott was able to get out of the jam. The star of the night offensively was Donovan Solano, who went 4-5 and drove in 4 runs. With the 6-0 win, the Padres reached a season-high mark of 10 games over .500.
