Boomer & Gio stunned by Giants low roster ranking on PFF

Gio took a look at Pro Football Focus’ roster rankings for the upcoming NFL season, and he couldn’t believe where the Giants were ranked heading into the 2024 campaign.

PFF has Big Blue second to last in the league in terms of the strength of their roster, behind teams like the Panthers, Patriots, Commanders, and Cardinals. The only team behind them are the Denver Broncos.

“I was shocked by this. Shocked,” Gio said. “I can’t believe how bad it is.

“I thought the Giants would be somewhere in the 21-25 range. Thirty one out of 32?!”

Boomer was equally surprised, and believes Brian Daboll should show that to the team as bulletin board material going into what New York hopes is a bounceback season following their six-win campaign in 2023.

“Two new offensive linemen, Brian Burns, drafting Malik Nabers. And Devin Singletary, who is a really good running back,” Boomer said. “They upgraded pretty much at every position they have tended to, with the exception of safety and maybe corner.

“It’s pretty eye-opening. I didn’t think they would be ranked that low, but it’s a chip-on-the-shoulder spot if you ask me. It’s a motivational spot.”
