Joe Benigno was seen dancing outside of MetLife Stadium after the Jets had pulled off a miraculous comeback to stun the Giants in overtime on Sunday afternoon.

Turns out, Joe had been out in that parking lot for some time, because he had left the stadium before the end of regulation, having believed that the game was over.

Joe, in his weekly spot with Evan and Tiki on Monday, revealed that he had left the building after Kayvon Thibodeaux sacked Zach Wilson on fourth down to give the ball back to the Giants late in the fourth quarter.

“We’re gone. We’re out…we leave the building,” Joe said. “We were disgusted…’How are we gonna lose to the crummy Giants with [Tommy] DeVito?’”

Of course, the Giants elected to go for a field goal on 4th-and-1 with less than a minute to go, missed it, and the Jets somehow got down the field to kick a field goal after spiking the ball with one second left on the clock.

“We’re walking down the escalator, we get outside the building, and all we hear is that [Graham] Gano missed the field goal,” Joe said. “So we run back, and they won’t let us in. Can’t go back in. they got the big screens all over the place in the parking lot, so we are watching the end of the game on the big screens in the parking lot.”

Joe was far from alone, as several other Jets fans had left, convinced the game was over, but were given a nice surprise out in the parking lot.

“It was a party,” Joe said. “We were doing a dance when [Greg] Zuerlein made the game-winning field goal. We thought it was no good! He barely gets it inside the left upright!

“It was nuts in the parking lot there. It was crazy, man.”
