Arizona Cardinals fans thanked kicker Matt Prater on social media Thursday night after their team took wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the No. 4 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Why?
Prater made the selection possible when he missed a field goal at the end of the team's 21-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the final game of the regular season last season.
Had he made the kick, Arizona's would have had a lower draft pick, but by missing it, the Cardinals finished 4-13, allowing them to pick No. 4 overall ahead of the Los Angeles Chargers, who finished 5-12.
The Chargers took Notre Dame OT Joe Alt with the No. 5 pick in the draft Thursday night.
