Baseball equipment stolen from high school storage shed

Someone broke into a storage shed at North County High School and stole baseball equipment, county police said.

Baseball coach Daniel W. Usewick called police to the school in the first block of First Ave. in Glen Burnie about 4 p.m. Wednesday and told them that someone had broken into the shed next to the home-team dugout, police said. A catcher’s mask and helmet, three bases, an extension cord and groundskeeping equipment were stolen.

Mr. Usewick said he last used the field Friday and did not know when the theft occurred. There were no signs of forced entry,

police said.

Annapolis man charged in theft of saw from Sears

An Annapolis man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he stole a circular saw from Sears in Glen Burnie, county police said.

Robert Lee Hammer, 44, of the 1600 block of West St. was charged with theft.

Larry Rogers, a security guard for the store in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway. told police he saw a man in the store shortly before 9 p.m. pick up a circular saw, valued at $88, and walk out without paying, police said.
