A Westminster woman was charged with assault after she allegedly struck a man and took property.

Anna Fletcher Grandinetti, 38, of the 300 block of Bishop Court, was charged with one count each of second-degree assault and theft between $100 and $1,500. She was released on $1,500 unsecured bail Monday, according to electronic court records.

According to the statement of probable cause, Westminster police responded Saturday, June 2, just before 4 a.m. to a reported disorderly individual. A man told police Grandinetti had arrived intoxicated and awakened him. Following a disagreement, she took his wallet and threatened to break his TV when he said he would call police, the man said, according to the statement.

After calling police, he began to video record, fearing that she may later attempt to make allegations against him, according to the statement.

Police viewed the video and observed Grandinetti striking the man with a swatting motion. She then took a drone belonging to the man valued at $1,200 and left the room, according to the statement.

Police spoke to Grandinetti who said that no assault had occurred. She said she had not seen or spoken to the man in the last week, according to the statement.

When reached by the Times, Grandinetti said she had filed a protective order against the man in the weeks prior to the incident and was intimidated into dropping charges against him by his lawyer.

According to electronic court records, a temporary protective order was filed against the man on May 15.

She said she did not assault the man on June 2 and was trying to keep the phone out of his hands. She said he took her wallet before she took his.

A court date is scheduled for Aug. 8.
