UPDATED:

The Carroll County Farm Museum is hosting its second annual Food Truck Sunday Funday from noon to 5 p.m. this Sunday, June 10, with more than 20 food trucks competing to win diners’ affections.

The event, which began last year with hopes of attracting a few hundred people, actually brought in about 3,000, according to museum event coordinator Dana Wachter.

This year, the number of food trucks participating has doubled, and Food Truck Sunday Funday is the largest food truck event in Carroll County.

“We didn’t expect such a wonderful turnout [last year], but we loved it so much that this is an annual event,” Wachter said this week. “This year we increased our trucks to over 20 and we have our sponsors — Atlantic Blue Water Services and KitchenSavers — and we are looking forward to having not only last year’s crowd but hopefully doubling that.”

And, as the event is a competition, diners will vote for their favorite food truck after trying various cuisines. The winner will be able to participate in the Maryland Wine Festival for free.

Returning trucks include BricknFire Pizza Company, Jimmie’s Seafood and Pasta La Vista Baby! among others.

“They were very happy last year to come back this year and participate again,” Wachter said. “Last year BricknFire Pizza Company won, and they are back this year.”

Diners can expect to see a variety of new food trucks this year as well, with debuts from Mexican on the Run, Holy Crepes, B’More Greek, Dirty South Deli, the Dawg Pound, Cryin’ Johnnies and Have a Ball.

“[At] Have a Ball, all the food is served to you as a ball,” Wachter said. “Cheese steak is a ball, Caprese salad is a ball, dessert.”

In addition to the competition, Making Waves will provide live entertainment from 1 to 3 p.m., Tristar Martial Arts will host a demonstration and interactive class from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., and activities and crafts will be available for children — who will also be able to bounce all day at the bouncy house for $5, visit the museum’s Farmyard Friends, tour the farmhouse and visit artisans.

The museum will also set up a booth for festival attendees to donate canned goods to the Westminster Rescue Mission this year.

“It’s a very good family day,” Wachter said. “You can come for brunch, lunch, dinner.”

The event will continue rain or shine, and pets and outside alcoholic beverages will not be allowed; attendees will be able to bring picnic blankets and chairs.

More information on the event can be found at the Carroll County Farm Museum’s event page, on its Facebook event page, or by calling the museum directly at 800-654-4645.
