Perhaps LeBron James is headed to the West Coast after all.
NBA Hall-of-Famer Gary Payton says that James’ children are already enrolled in Los Angeles-area schools, according to Black Sports Online, meaning The King could be positioning himself to join a team out west.
Rumors have already swirled around where James could end up next season, with The News’ Frank Isola suggesting over the weekend that the Lakers are the most likely destination if James does indeed leave Cleveland.
James, of course, is coming off a disappointing finish to an otherwise outstanding postseason, guiding an underwhelming Cavs roster to his eighth consecutive NBA Finals appearance.
LeBron already owned homes in California, though, and still made his basketball home in Cleveland anyway, so it isn’t a given that he will head west this offseason.
But this could be the first step toward James leaving Cleveland… again.
