Letter: Rothstein will serve us well as commissioner

UPDATED:

I’m writing in support of Ed Rothstein’s candidacy for Carroll County’s District 5 Commissioner. I believe his priorities, relevant experience and values are exactly what our district needs. I have seen first-hand how Ed’s proactive management of

Fort Meade
forged strong partnership connections and brought needed improvement to our nation’s third-largest Army installation. His concern for the people he served resulted in the development of a new Wellness Center — focused on free, holistic health services, and the area’s largest USO facility to serve Fort Meade’s growing and diverse population. Both projects happened only because of Ed’s advocacy with the Fort Meade Alliance, through which area businesses donated funds and in-kind services. His outgoing, personable leadership style was appreciated and well supported by the Fort Meade community of over 55,000.

Ed’s strong connections to the community grew as he retired from the Army. He became the President/CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation and subsequently launched ERA Advisory LLC, where he works with businesses in the Baltimore/D.C. area and keeps a focus on giving back to the community.

Ed’s business development acumen, his ability to build strong interpersonal relationships, and concern for family, education, public safety, and his plan for smart, controlled development, make him a great fit for District 5. His further investment in the Carroll County Veterans Advisory Council, Governor’s Workforce Development Board and service as Executive Director of the BWI Business Partnership are examples of Ed’s willingness to work hard and invest in community. I urge your support of Ed — he will serve us all well.
