Stanley Cup-winning Capitals announce 2018-19 preseason schedule

UPDATED:

Good news for mid-Atlantic hockey fans, as if there hasn’t been enough in the past two weeks.

The Washington Capitals revealed their 2018-19 NHL preseason schedule on Monday. It will feature seven games — three at Capital One Arena — against four opponents, the Boston Bruins, the Montreal Canadiens, the Carolina Hurricanes and the St. Louis Blues.

The fall series will be tightly packed, giving Caps fans a taste of what it’s like to be a fan of the defending champions before starting up the regular season in October.

After opening the preseason at TD Garden in Boston on Sept. 16, Washington will host the Bruins Sept. 18. Then, the Caps will play the Canadiens in Quebec City on Sept. 20 and travel to face the Hurricanes the next night.

After a few days’ break, the Caps will visit the Blues in St. Louis on Sept. 25 and return home to play the Hurricanes on Sept. 28 and close with the Blues on Sept. 30.

All preseason games can be streamed on washingtoncaps.com and Caps Radio 24/7. A handful of games will be live-cast on 106.7 the Fan, but which ones, along with more details — including the regular-season schedule — are pending.
