One pick is gone.

The Sixers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, have traded the 39th overall pick in Thursday night’s draft to the Los Angeles Lakers for a second-round pick in next year’s draft and cash. The Lakers’ pick came from the Chicago Bulls.

The Sixers have five picks left, two in the first round and three in the second: Nos. 10, 26, 38, 56 and 60 overall. Don’t expect them to use them all; they have 11 players already under contract.

What will they do with their first pick? ESPN’s Marc Spears is “hearing” the Sixers like Texas Tech guard/forward Zhaire Smith. The 6-4, 195-pound Smith, who’s only 19, is considered an excellent athlete and defender with an evolving offensive game.

He hit 45 percent from three in his lone season with the Red Raiders on only 40 attempts. He averaged 11.3 points and 5.0 rebounds.

The 10th pick seems early for Smith (see mocks), so perhaps the Sixers are looking to trade down.
