An Annapolis man was sentenced to 35 years in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a minor.
Travis Wesley Foster, 36, was sentenced to 40 years in prison, suspended but for 35 years of incarceration after he was found guilty of sexual abuse of a minor, second-degree sex offense and third-degree sex offense.
The Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office said Foster had abused a girl between the ages of 6 and 7 years old while dating another family member and living in the same house. Court records suggest the abuse took place for about a year-and-a-half between 2015 and 2017.
Circuit Court Judge Cathleen Vitale sentenced Foster on June 18 and in addition to the 35-year sentence, Foster must register as a Tier III sex offender and serve a five-year probation sentence upon release.
Foster has appealed the ruling, online court records show.
