Two people were seriously injured after a dump truck collided with two cars on Route 97 South this morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene of a three-vehicle accident on Route 97 near Exit 7 in Millersville at 9:40 p.m., said Capt. Russ Davies, spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
Davies said a dump truck had collided with two cars, briefly trapping a 72-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman inside their vehicle.
After the two were freed, Davies said they were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore to be treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
No one else was injured in the crash, he added.
