Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Girls basketball

Mt. Hebron 48, Glenelg 41: The Vikings (10-3, 8-3 Howard County) fought off the Gladiators down the stretch behind senior guard Erin Dixon, who finished with 17 points. Junior guard Rae Vidal scored 12 points, while senior Audrey Harrington had eight points. Lauren LaPointee spearheaded the offense for Glenelg (5-6, 5-5 Howard County) with 18 points, while Nia Stewart chipped in eight points.

Howard 56, Reservoir 14: The Lions (13-0, 11-0) Howard County maintained their undefeated season as senior Gabby Scott scored 18 first-half points. Both junior Gabby Kennerly (12) and freshman Meghan Yarnevich (10) finished in double figures, and Howard’s defense remained stifling. Reservoir (2-7, 2-7 Howard County) struggled offensively throughout as Gabi Burian and Alissa Young led the team with four points each.

Hammond 58, Wilde Lake 46: The Golden Bears (4-6, 4-6 Howard County) ended a four-game losing streak behind 20 points from Kaylee Beahm, including six 3-pointers. Nia Green chipped in 19 points for Hammond, which tallied its second-highest point total this season. Wilde Lake (3-8, 3-8 Howard County) showcased its offensive balance, as Camryn Jones-Howard scored 12 points, Brianna Floyd added 11 and Mia Swaby-Rowe tallied 10.

River Hill 45, Centennial 31: The Hawks (11-1, 10-1 Howard County) tallied their seventh straight win as senior Anhyia Smith tied a season-high with 23 points. Eight of those came in the fourth quarter, while Caroline Duffy chipped in nine points. River Hill built on its five-point halftime lead with a strong second half. The Eagles (6-7, 5-6 Howard County) were led by 14 points from Lauren Pellegrini.

Atholton 52, Marriotts Ridge 40: The Raiders (10-2, 9-2 Howard County) earned their sixth straight victory. Laila Cowsette led Atholton with 19 points, her seventh consecutive game in double figures. Samara Mims also tallied 11 points. Marriotts Ridge (6-6, 5-5 Howard County) trailed by eight at the half and wasn’t able to complete the comeback. Senior guard Talia Trotter led the Mustangs with 17 points, while Annika Huelskamp added six.

North Harford 51, Joppatowne 28: The Hawks (11-8, 9-4) beat the host Mariners (1-11, 0-9) in an Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Susquehanna Division game. Caroline Nicholson led the Hawks with 19 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, three steals and four blocked shots.

Harford Tech 29, Bo Manor 24: Amya Goodsell (three rebounds, one assist, one steal) led the Cobras (13-4, 7-3) with 11 points in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Chesapeake Division win over the host Eagles (10-7, 3-7). Anyia Gibson added 15 rebounds, eight points, one steal and one block.

Havre de Grace 45, North East 35: The Warriors (11-6, 10-3) defeated the visiting Indians (7-9, 7-5) in an Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Susquehanna Division game. Natiah Turner and Carla Dunson scored 12 points apiece and Blessing Ayala contributed nine points for the Warriors.

Edgewood 65, Rising Sun 50: The Rams (12-8, 10-3) won their fourth straight in an Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Susquehanna Division game against the visiting Tigers (9-10, 6-7). Harmony Madu had a huge double-double with 22 points and 23 rebounds. Ma’niya Alston scored 14 points on four 3-pointers in the second quarter and finished with 23 points.

Fallston 62, Patterson Mill 40: The Cougars (16-3, 12-0) closed Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Chesapeake Division play perfect with the win over the visiting Huskies (12-7, 7-4). Jillian Crawford had 18 points and five rebounds, while Molly Mullaney added 12 points.

Boys basketball

Patterson Mill 61, Aberdeen 58, OT: Kyle Luddy scored a game-high 24 points to lead the host Huskies over the Eagles. Patterson Mill led 30-24 at the half.

Long Reach 71, Oakland Mills 45: The host Lightning went on a 26-6 run in the third quarter to pull away from the Scorpions. Long Reach was led by Christian Dean (14 points), Cameron Valentine (13 points) and R.J. Barnes Jr. (10 points). Ali DaCosta-Paul had 10 points for Oakland Mills.

Chapelgate 62, Rockbridge 21: In the loss for Rockbride, Timi Akinyelu led with 11 points and three steals. Rock Fix chipped in six points, five assists and seven rebounds. Bailey Lamar also grabbed seven rebounds, and Isaiah Amissah-Ocran blocked three shots.

North Harford 58, Harford Christian 41: The visiting Hawks (4-14) beat the Eagles (4-8) in nonleague action. George Alexander’s 14 points led the winners and Garrett Reinecke added 13. Aaron Huth scored 12 points and Dylan Allred netted nine. Harford Christian’s Peyton Heiss had his career-high game with 15 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks, while Josh Olinger added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Reservoir 66, Howard 51: The Gators (7-5, 6-5 Howard County) returned to the win column with four double-digit scorers. Zech Chin led Reservoir with 19 points and Cameron Chance added 17. Both Irby Hunter (16) and Matthew Braithwaite (14) found success combining for 30 points. Howard (4-8, 3-8 Howard County) struggled in the second half with just 19 points. Ethan Maokhamphiou led Howard with 15 points, nine of which came in the first half.

Wilde Lake 63, Hammond 43: The Wildecats (8-4, 8-4 Howard County) earned their third straight victory, once again showing offensive balance. Junior Nathan Hiteshew led all scorers with 21 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Sophomore Kain Corkeron added 17 points, while Xavier Gilliam chipped in 14, eight of which came in the second half. Hammond (3-8, 2-8 Howard County), which got 10 points from Nico Muniz, had its two-game win streak snapped.

Glenelg 67, Mt. Hebron 52: The Gladiators (7-5, 5-5 Howard County) bounced back from losing their last game with a strong offensive performance. Senior Bisi Owens tallied a team-high 27 points, his fourth game in a row with at least 25, while Oliver Trawick and Eric Seidlich each contributed nine points. Mt. Hebron (1-10, 1-10 Howard County) finished with two double-digit scorers as Anitej Ayyamgari(12) and Sathvik Andhavarapu (11) combined for 23 points.
