Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Thursday, Dec. 7:

Boys basketball

Patterson Mill 58, Joppatowne 47: Drew Pape led the charge for the Huskies with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. He was backed by Colin Luddy with 13 points and six assists. James Kropp came up with four steals defensively to go with his 10 points. For the Mariners, Phil Clark led with 16 points. Kendall Pollock chipped in nine. 

Loyola Blakefield 65, Annapolis Area Christian 44: The visiting Dons (5-1) bounced back from Wednesday’s 60-58 loss to Mount St. Joseph.  The Eagles fell to 1-4. Saturday, Loyola hosts The Salisbury School and AACS hosts Broadneck.   

Indian Creek 62, Park 41: The host Eagles (1-3) beat the Bruins (1-3). Friday, Park hosts Early College and on Wednesday Indian Creek travels to Arundel.

St. Andrew’s 56, Severn 44: Kingston Price had 11 points and Corey Dixon had 10 points, but the visiting Admirals (1-1) fell to the Lions. St. Andrew’s was led by Turk Brown with 22 points, Miles Franklin with 16 points and Karon Bailey with 10 points.

Howard 78, Chesapeake-AA 39: The Lions (1-1) earned their first win of the season in dominant fashion. Griffin Garner led the way with 20 points, while Jamie Del-Russo Freeman added 13 points. Isaiah Omole and Josh Ademiju each scored in double figures as well with 11 and 12 points, respectively.

Williamsport 73, Francis Scott Key 54: Despite the loss, Jordan Fulmore scored 26 points for the Eagles, while Braedon Haven had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Girls basketball

North Harford 33, Harford Tech 30: The Hawks rallied from down eight in the third quarter to pick up the victory. For the host Cobras, Jess Castro led with 11 points. Jordan Strang finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Sophia Mace chipped in five points, four rebounds and three assists.  

Patterson Mill 49, Elkton 11: Kiley Wilhelm led eight Huskies in the scorebook with 16 points. Sophia Trinh backed her with 10 points and Rylie Madsen was right behind with nine.

Manchester Valley 60, Owings Mills 3: Reese Kresslein tallied 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals in the Mavericks’ big win. Autumn Stottlemire matched her for game-high with 14 points. Haylee Bittinger added six points and six rebounds. 

South Carroll 42 Boonsboro 27: The visiting Cavaliers used a strong defense to beat the Warriors. Harley McKee led South Carroll with 14 points and freshman Jenna Todd had 11 rebounds and five blocks. Leah Miller had four steals for the Cavaliers.

Francis Scott Key 47, Williamsport 36: Drew Watkins had 13 points to lead the Eagles to their second win of the season. Caroline Kohr backed her with nine points and a team-high seven rebounds. Summer Brooks handed out six assists and Abby Rieger collected four steals.

Swimming

Harford Tech 153, North Harford 147: The Cobras and Hawks each won half of their meet. North Harford won the girls competition, 111-54, while Tech won the boys side, 99-36. North Harford got multiple wins from Ava Sealey (200 free, 500 free), Michael O’Leary (200 IM, 100 breast). Harford Tech’s Megan Nguyen won the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. 

Havre de Grace 181, Edgewood 85: The Warriors swept their meet with the Rams, the boys winning, 97-19 and the girls winning, 84-66. For Edgewood, the 400 freestyle relay team of Rowan Maichle, Eleanor Starbuck, Vivienne Ellenbecker and Catherine Whipke took home first in a time of 4:57.13. Whipke individually won the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

Wrestling

Perry Hall opened its season sweeping a tri-meet with wins over Hereford, 54-24, and Kenwood, 59-18. The Gators were led by Hegan Channtyal (106 pounds), Dylan Young (113), Justin Kavanagh (126), Connor Chattin (138), Victor Marks-Jenkins (165), Daniel Moore (190) and Alaina Kopalchick (120).
