What you need to know about the 2024 New Year’s Eve fireworks in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor will be lit up to bring in 2024 with a “mesmerizing” drone show.

The custom display will be paired with fireworks at midnight, all of which is organized by Image Engineering, a Baltimore-based event company that specializes in “laser entertainment,” the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts said in a news release.

What time should I get there?

According to BOPA, the festivities will start in the Inner Harbor Amphitheater at 8 p.m., with a set from Baltimore-based party performer DJ Curtis.

At 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., Baltimore hip-hop band Soul Cannon will perform, featuring Eze Jackson, Matt Frazão, Jon Birkholz and Charles Wilson. Entertainment company Media Minds will control the beats between performances.

Additionally, the Inner Harbor Ice Rink will stay open until midnight on New Year’s Eve. Watermark will also be hosting its annual New Year’s Eve Baltimore Yacht Party 10 p.m.–1 a.m. Tickets are available at: https://tinyurl.com/35vexu92

How should I get there?

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation encourages anyone attending New Year’s events to use public transportation including the Light Rail and metro subway. The Charm City Circulator will be operating until 8 p.m. on Sunday, and will not be in operation on Monday.

Those who do wish to drive downtown should park at commercial parking facilities and avoid local neighborhoods. Vehicles parked in violation of any roadside rules will be ticketed or towed.

What roads will be closed and when?

If you decide to drive, be aware that the Baltimore City Department of Transportation is planning some road and lane closures for the event.

The following street will be closed to traffic from 8:30 p.m. on Sunday until event traffic clears:

  • Pratt Street will be closed at Charles Street, with traffic diverted north on Charles Street to continue east on Baltimore Street.
  • Lombard Street will be closed at President Street, with traffic diverted north on President Street to continue west on Fayette Street.
  • Northbound Light Street will close at Lee Street, with traffic diverted west onto Lee Street to continue north on Charles Street.
  • Southbound Light Street will close at Lombard Street, with traffic diverted west onto Lombard Street to continue south on Sharp Street.
  • Eastbound Conway Street at I-395  while Northbound I-395 traffic at Conway Street will be diverted north onto Howard Street.
    • There will be no access onto eastbound Conway Street.

The following closures will be be in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday until 3 a.m. Monday:

  • East side of Light Street from Lee to Conway Streets
  • Gay Street from Pratt to Fayette Streets
  • Calvert Street from Pratt to Fayette Streets
  • Baltimore Street from S. Charles to S. Gay Streets
  • South side of Key Highway from Light to William Streets
  • West side of Charles Street from Pratt to Fayette Streets

In addition to the closures, commercial vehicles will be prohibited from the downtown/Inner Harbor area, except for local deliveries, from effect from 4 p.m. Sunday to 3 a.m. Monday.
