Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Thursday, March 28.

Girls lacrosse

Fallston 12, Crofton 7: The Cougars salvaged a split during a Thursday tournament with a win over the Cardinals. Ava Lambros scored five goals to lead the win. Ayla Galloway totaled six points, evenly split with three goals and three assists. Sydney Grafton scored twice and Delaney O’Mailey had a goal and two assists.

Severna Park 17, Fallston 6: Sydney Grafton had two goals and two assists, but the Cougars fell to the Falcons.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes 15, Park 9: Abby Slawinski scored seven goals and  Sarah Fowler had six goals to lead the host Falcons (4-3) over the Bruins (2-3). Keenan Clark scored four goals and  Julia Goldstein had three goals for Park.

Boys lacrosse

Episcopal (Texas) 11, Severn 10: The host Eagles (7-2) beat the Admirals (4-4) on Wednesday. Severn dropped both away games in Texas. The Admirals fell 9-8 to Highland Park (Texas) on Tuesday. Severn will host John Carroll on Tuesday.

Baseball

John Carroll 10, Gilman 4: After falling behind early, John Carroll flipped the game with six runs in the bottom of the third. Drew Jourdan homered twice in the win and finished with three RBIs. Dallas Brooks also homered and had three RBIs. Brycen Altland drove in a pair of runs.

Magruder 2, Broadneck 0: The Colonels scored two runs in the sixth inning to beat the Bruins at the Xposure Holiday tournament at Blandair Park. Calvin Cook, Nick Cicale, and Jack Miteff each had a  hit for Broadneck.

Broadneck 13, Leonardtown 0: Noah Forman and Andrew Katzen combined efforts to throw a no-hitter for the Bruins over the Raiders at the Xposure Holiday tournament at Blandair Park. Foreman worked four innings, walked two and struck out two. Katzen threw two innings of relief, walked one and struck out two. Offensively, Mike Swick (4-for-4) drove in four runs for Broadneck. Freshman Cooper Mengel had a double and Peyton Cassidy had two RBIs for the Bruins.

Severn 16, Mount Carmel 3: The Admirals (4-2,3-2 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference) beat the Cougars (0-7, 0-5) at Ripken Field in Aberdeen. Aiden Szydlik started an 11-run rally in the third inning with a base hit and ended it with a two-run, inside-the-park home run. Caden Blanck added two hits for the Admirals and Ben Campion added three RBIs.

Softball

Manchester Valley 17, Winters Mill 0: Hailey Facchine threw a five-inning one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the Mavericks’ decisive win. Facchine also had two hits and two RBIs offensively. Brooke Sims doubles twice and drove in three runs to lead the offense. Kaylee Lettau had two hits and two RBIs and Olivia Smith homered in the win.
