Nine people have been charged in an Independence Day shooting in Edgewood, according to Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

At 4:12 p.m. on July 4, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Edgewood Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered Rayvon Perry, 21, of Aberdeen, in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to the lower body, according to police.

After Perry was transported to shock trauma, police say they located Cameron Ward, 21, of Edgewood and two male juveniles, both age 17, at nearby hospitals seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. Police did not disclose the extent of the injuries to Ward or the juveniles.

Police said the shooting was a result of a large group gathering in the 600 block of Harr Park Court that led to a fight and multiple gunshots being fired. Police say the fight involved rival gang members.

A 10-month investigation by the Harford County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division resulted in deputies executing nine search and seizure warrants on May 23, according to police.

Police say Jeremiah Kareen-Zion Brown, 22; Laday De John Cooper, 23; Paul Delnor Terry Talley Jr., 19; Jaierre Naheim Hoke, 22; Makhiah Nijuel Colclough, 23; Dominic D’Juan Frazier, 29; Rayvon Olique Perry, 22; John Terell Hawkins Jr, 18; Kareem Donte Carter Jr. 24 – all Harford County residents – are charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and participation in a criminal organization.

According to police, Hoke and Frazier were already incarcerated for unrelated charges. Police say the charges related to the 2023 shooting will be added.

Through the search warrants, police say they seized four 9mm handguns and controlled dangerous substances that police said were indicative of distribution.

A news release from the sheriff’s office said that additional arrests in connection with the shooting are expected.

“The familiarity of the arrested individuals to law enforcement underscores the importance of community knowledge in solving cases,” said Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler. “These arrests are expected to make a lasting positive impact on the community.”
