Daily storage fees for impounded vehicles at Baltimore City facilities being reinstated

UPDATED:

Baltimore’s Department of Transportation is reinstituting daily storage fees paused during the pandemic for impounded vehicles at its Pulaski Highway and Fallsway facilities.

The resumption of these towing fees will start Monday, with a 48-hour grace period. Owners of vehicles currently impounded are asked to get them before Monday to avoid charges.

Vehicles at the Pulaski Highway or Fallsway facilities still impounded after the initial 48 hours will be charged a storage fee of $15 per day (including holidays and weekends) for 2-axle vehicles with four wheels. Larger vehicles, such as trucks with six wheels or vehicles with three or more axles, will be charged $30 a day.

Before vehicles are released, the owner must show proper documentation, including proof of ownership, and be verified by city staff. Additionally, any citations associated with the vehicle also must be paid.

Towing and storage fees are waived for stolen vehicles if proper documentation is provided.
