No injuries in senior living facility fire in Harford County

Firefighters responded to Common Wealth Senior Living in Bel Air early Friday morning for a kitchen blaze, according to the state fire marshal’s office.

At about 12:41 a.m., the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company was called to a fire in a kitchen at a senior living center in the 1400 block of St. Francis Road, a release said.

The blaze was controlled within five minutes by the automatic fire sprinkler, but there was $50,000 worth of damage, according to the release. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was determined to be random combustion of kitchen rags, according to fire marshal.
