President Joe Biden ended his bid for reelection Sunday by dropping out of the 2024 race for the White House. Last week, U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin — a Maryland Democrat who became a leading national figure in the party after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol — joined several prominent Democrats who have publicly and privately said Biden should step aside.
