Braves start second half vs. Cardinals with same lineup they had to end first half

Which means Travis d’Arnaud stays in the lineup again.

The lineups for the first game of the second half of the season are out. Let’s not waste too much more time and jump right into discussing them — though if I’m being honest, there isn’t a ton to discuss when it comes to what the Atlanta Braves have planned for tonight.

Here’s Atlanta’s lineup:

If this looks familiar, then that’s because it’s the same lineup that the Braves used to end the first half of the season in San Diego. That went pretty well for them and it went pretty well for Travis d’Arnaud in particular. D’Arnaud went d’eep twice to help push the Braves to a series victory and Brian Snitker appears very content to keep him in the lineup as long as he’s hitting like this.

Here’s the lineup for the St. Louis Cardinals:

If you’re a Cardinals fan and you’ve wandered over to this corner of the internet, first off: Welcome! Secondly, this lineup should look familiar since it’s one that they’ve been using kind of regularly in recent days. The top of this lineup with Masyn Winn, Alec Burleson and Wilson Contreras is nothing to sneeze at and while the usual suspects of Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado haven’t been as productive as you’d expect them to be, they’re still to be taken seriously on any given night at the ballpark.

Tonight’s game starts at 7:20 P.M. E.T. and can be seen on Bally Sports Southeast and listened to on 680 The Fan/93.7 FM.
