Update 7/18/24: Prime Day is now over. With its departure, many of the deals Amazon boasted during the sale are either no longer discounted or out of stock. Not to worry: All the gear we called out during the Amazon blitz is still on sale. That said, we can’t forecast how long these deals will keep chugging along. Reader favorites, such as the Garmin Varia taillight and the Light & Motion Vis Pro 100 Trail headlight, could be gone soon—act quickly if you want to save some moolah.
If you’re a seasoned cyclist, you know how quickly the cost of gear can add up. Why not cut yourself some slack with a sale or two from the aftermath of Amazon’s Prime Day? Though it officially ended on July 17, this site-wide sale is the e-tailer’s biggest on the calendar, many of which have lingered into the latter half of the week. That’s great news for cyclists looking to accessorize a bike at a more manageable price.
We’ve picked up some late-blooming discounts on editor-recommended gear that are well worth your attention. We scoured for some of the best lights, locks, and racks on sale—believe us, there’s enough of a quality disparity among what’s available on Amazon to warrant that “best” distinction. Top brands like Garmin, Kryptonite, and Blackburn products are all still in the offing this week, and we’ve had plenty of the gear we recommend below on our own bikes, both casually and as professional testers. It’s prudent to pounce on these deals while they last—there’s little to no guarantee they’ll restock now that the sale is over.

Prime Day Bike Light Deals
If you ride at night or on busy streets, bike lights are less a suggestion and more a necessity. Rocking a front beam and a rear taillight is an essential solution for keeping yourself seeing and seen in all conditions. And you don’t have to pay full-price for quality models following Prime Day.
Light & Motion offers some of the best rechargeable lights on the market, and I’ve been using mine for over a decade. My collection includes the now-discounted Vis Pro 1000, which comes in road and trail versions with different beam patterns for varying surfaces. The former is more direct, and the latter is more spread out. But if you’re just looking for an insanely strong light, you’ll be happy with either. The road version is running for just shy of $20 off, and the trail version has a more substantial discount of more than $35.
In terms of taillights, you have the freedom to get fancy with Garmin’s smart taillight, the Varia, for a pleasant $50 discount. This puppy can detect incoming vehicles, alert you through your bike computer, and run for 6 hours with its built-in camera rolling.
Suppose you’re looking for a set of lights with a less intense price tag. If you’re in need of both front and rear, you can also save yourself 24 bucks on this combo pack from Niterider. It includes the editor-approved Lumina Micro, which packs a bigger punch in terms of luminosity than any other light we’ve tested at its price point.
Prime Day Bag, Basket, and Rack Deals
Want to carry more on your bike than a water bottle? There are virtually countless options for frame bags, baskets, panniers, and more that will fit seamlessly onto your steed. A healthy handful are on sale after Prime Day, too.
Looking for quicker access to your stuff? You could opt for this folding basket from Topeak that locks to your pannier and is currently almost $20 off. Looking for something even sleeker and easier to access? Score yourself this handlebar bag from Rockbros, with its spacious inner pocket and stretchy cords for external storage, for 33 percent off. Need something a bit smaller? You can also check out the 35 percent-off handlebar bag from Rhinowalk, which is a few inches slimmer in every direction and a bit lighter.
Prime Day Bike Lock Deals
There are plenty of bike locks on sale following Prime Day. That includes some of the strongest models from Kryptonite, one of our test team’s favorite brands. Take the New York U-Lock, for example: It has a hardened, 16mm, double-locking shackle that requires two cuts to release your bike. It’s also almost $40 off right now. Need a little more coverage for your wheels? Amazon is also parting ways with a U-lock and cable lock combo that secures all your major components together to the tune of a 33 percent discount.
Additionally, one of Kryptonite’s strongest chain locks, which fastens with a smaller version of the same U-lock, is on sale for almost $50 off. Chain locks are great for long-term storage because they’re hard to hold taut while operating an angle grinder, and Kryptonite’s chains come with a fabric sleeve that makes it harder for thieves to get a cutting groove started. Better yet, because the fastener is a U-lock as well, the lock body isn’t the weakest link.
To round off our current picks, one of Abus’s frame-mounted folding locks is over $100 off. It can make a perfect companion for your around-town bike if you don’t want to carry a lock in your bag or around your waist. Folding locks aren’t as secure as U-locks or chains due to their relatively vulnerable pivot points; however, if convenience is a priority, a folder will still keep your bike safer than most lightweight options.
