The 1992 season is remembered for a lot of things, but allowing the fewest yards in a game is one thing fans may not be aware of. The game was in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks and the fact the Cowboys defense allowed less than 100 yards, it’s easy to assume the game ended in a shutout. The game ended in a Cowboys 27-0 victory and began a run of games where the Cowboys would only lose one time over the next nine weeks.

Emmitt Smith opened the scoring for Dallas with a pair of touchdowns, which proved to be more than enough to secure victory in this game. Seattle simply had no reply against a Cowboys defense that held the visitors to only six first downs, eight pass completions and only 38 yards of rushing, still the lowest total surrendered in team history. Dallas accumulated seven sacks, resulting in a loss of 55 yards, and only allowed 79 passing yards. Safety Ray Horton sealed the game with a 15-yard pick-six for the final touchdown.

The game was the team’s tenth shutout victory in team history and the first shutout win since 1978.

The most number of sacks recorded in a season by the Dallas Cowboys is also 62. A team record that was set in 1985.
