Overlooking the Firth of Forth railway bridge, The Hawes Inn by Innkeeper's Collection, is just 20 minutes’ drive from the historical city center of Edinburgh. It was a nice traditional pub and an excellent restaurant. The staff were fantastic.
We arrived about 12.15pm I liked it from the minute I stepped into the building, it was beautiful. All of the staff we met in check in were so helpful. They gave us our room Key, that was the biggest surprise knowing check in was at 3pm. The Continental breakfast the next morning was so special. Thank you so much We will be back
Great place to base yourself for trips to Edinburgh or Livingston. Our son loved watching the trains cross the forth rail bridge, the aquarium and the ice cream at the little parlour. Breakfast at down the hatch was also delicious.
Ratho exceeded all of our expectations. We'd booked the end of our 10-day Scotland trip near the airport (which is less than 10 minutes away), and so thought this might be a less than perfect part of town on Edinburgh's outstretches. But, not at all. Ratho is charming, quaint, with lots of nice walking in town or along the canals.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel was very modern and had a good vibe. The bar wasn’t stocked very well and service was a bit slow but this may have been due to it being really busy due to an event near by.
Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around. There are lots of excellent restaurants and coffee shops. I had lunch at the Railbridge Bistro and a lovely dinner at the Thirty Knots restaurant. There are nice little shops to browse in. Queensferry is very near Edinburgh and there is an excellent train service into the city from Dalmeny Station.
Gorgeous venue and surroundings. Overall, staff were friendly but the venue was a bit of a maze, which was sometimes frustrating. My room was very far away from hotel amenities which was also something to bare in mind when booking, especially if disabled. I’d still really recommend for a short stay. Lovely breakfast!
