It was way too busy, we were getting pushed and shoved on a snorkeling tour so never saw the statues properly and couldn’t even take a photo due to the amount of people kicking and pushing. We were taken to an island called Gili air but forced to eat at a place which had been set in advance. This place was clearly not popular, and we were all told not to walk off after alighting from the boat. Where else in the world can you sunrise breakfast on one side of the island and cycle to sunset dinner on the other, in 15 minutes, on a flat bike path?? Bicycle travel was surprisingly fun, and very easy. Snorkeling right off the beach with turtles and tropical fish was a once in a lifetime joy. Water quality (tap) isn't up there like other areas of Bali have improved in recent years, so a few of us got sick where we don't in Bali elsewhere anymore. Food can be a bit hit and miss, so explore - the options are endless. We travelled from Padang Bai on Blue Water Express and didn't have a problem with the crossing at all. Boats were air conditioned and seats not over-sold. Would highly recommend a better fast boat operator as not all are great.

We are two middle aged parents and a teenage. We went for the snorkeling which was excellent but we wish we had chosen gilly air instead. Gilly trewangan is great for younger people who want the nightlife but we had to work to avoid it. We took 2 boat trips snorkeling and did sunset north yoga and sound bath north beach. Both excellent. We won't come back but can highly recommend sadev to others. We ate at jalli kitchen almost every night as it is also excellent.AlisonUnited Kingdom - Scored 1010

Great laid back atmosphere. You can go to the beach, snorkel, eat ( seefood !! ) and party. ALl in one small island, it is like a small paradise. We were not interested in western cuisine and visited the local warungs offering great food at normal Indonesian prices. Good fun with children, as it was nice not to have much car or scooter traffic. The bike items quick and easy and is a great form of family transport and exercise. The island does have a fair amount of rubbish as with most of the Asian islands- I do feel a larger tourist tax should be applied to sort this issue out properly. The sea is fun and the turtles off the north east beach are amazing to watch only just a handful of meters out!! The food is generally fine on the island.
