We like to hike in RMNP.

We like to hike in RMNP. This time we went around Bear Lake and all the way to Mills Lake. Met some elk on the trail. The views are spectacular. Lots of waterfalls, ,beautiful forest, great hiking trails. We met a few skiers on the trail in August ! Smokin'Dave's BBQ was great for family dinner of 10 people, Drinks at Stanley after dinner in beautiful setting. Lunch at Ember Restaurant & Bar was great ( by the Lake). Good Golf Course .Fun shopping. Easy to get around. Friendly people. High elevation. Need to drink a lot of water

    Great tourist town!

Great tourist town! I do NOT recommend the Wagon Wheel Bar though, the bartender was extremely rude. We went down the block to Lonigans and they were friendly and the beer was cold! Kids loved the mountain coaster!

We spent a day there in July, and the weather was fantastic! Also, it is packed on a summer Friday, so don't be surprised by the struggle for parking; it's available, but you have to be patient, and expect a lot of walking. There is a LOT to sample, and see, and do. A lot. Nearly overwhelming with the variety of options to eat, or purchase, or wear. The scenery, the setting of Estes Park, is beautiful.

Using the guides at the visitor center is key to figuring out passes for shuttles and parking at RMNP. They also made restaurant suggestions. I strongly recommend the Estes Park Trolly tours; you learn a lot about what places you'd like to come back to on your own in the days to follow. Our favorite restaurant was hands down the Smokin' Dave's restaurant; it's a MUST! We traveled to Boulder for a massage at Massage Mountain by Authentic Bodyworks that worked out the soreness of 4 days of hiking/walking- 6/5 stars!!

Estes Park is a typical mountain tourist town.

Estes Park is a typical mountain tourist town. Lots of nice little restaurants and shops, but they get a bit monotonous after awhile; most of the shops sell basically the same thing. The big draw are the surrounding mountains for hiking/skiing. The town itself is a great base camp for outdoor activities, but won't hold your attention on its own for long. Rocky Mountain National Park is great! Definitely worth multiple days of exploration!

This inn was a very pleasant surprise! We had been to Estes Park in the past and were never particularly thrilled by the available accommodations. The Maxwell Inn changed that. The best feature is that the room and grounds are impeccably CLEAN. Our room (#21) was recently renovated and everything about it was delightful - the furnishings, the bed linens, the fluffy towels, and (of course) the cleanliness. The patio areas are very nice and quite relaxing.

The rooms were super cute. The motel is right by the Estes Park Golf Course where a ton of elk always stay so every morning we got to wake up and see the elk! Was a great stay and near everything. We stayed here when it was ‘Peak to Peak Motel’ so we were super happy it was open again. The renovations done were super cute and we loved the updates!
