The Biden White House is now in full denial mode – back to the same old tricks by covering up and normalizing the president’s clear mental lapses.

After a sometimes lucid but gaffe-prone press conference, Joe Biden survived for another day but faces continued calls from 18 Democratic lawmakers to end his campaign.

The White House is trying to run out the clock, keeping Biden in the race until the convention delegates make it official next month, making it almost impossible to replace him.

A defiant Biden is almost daring Democrats to get rid of him – and there may still be behind-the-scenes efforts to do that.

But there may be more shoes to drop in the coming weeks.

The Hur tape is still out there despite the Biden team’s efforts to ensure it never gets released. The tape includes enough evidence for the special prosecutor to conclude Biden was too feeble to be charged in the documents case.

But don’t be surprised if the tape gets leaked by Democrats who want to see Biden gone.

Could other things surface from the internal White House staff – some of whom are Obama holdovers? Will they leak something so devastating that it forces Biden’s hand?

And where is Barack? He’s been noticeably AWOL for the last two weeks, but reportedly has serious concerns about Biden continuing his campaign. If Obama decides to end his public silence or talk to Biden, that would be it.

And what about the poll that the Biden team took measuring how well VP Kamala Harris does against Donald Trump? That will surely surface and cause more embarrassment to Biden.

In a last ditch bid, Biden’s camp and their Democratic enablers are resorting to comparing Biden’s mental competence to Donald Trump’s and pointing out Trump is also getting up in age.

This is denial. It’s an attempt to normalize Biden’s behavior.

But it’s not about age. It’s about mental competence.

The public has already seen enough of Biden’s competence to conclude overwhelmingly he should step aside.

It’s the same old tricks from Democrats that we’ve seen for the last eight years when it comes to Trump.

Roll out the argument that, well, if Biden is bad, so is Trump.

But this time it’s different. The good of the country is at stake and Democrats will come to regret all the enabling they’re doing for the president.

No matter how many times Karine Jean-Pierre gets up to the podium and lies and squirms, or Elizabeth Warren dashes down the hallway to avoid reporters’ questions, Americans aren’t buying it.
