The Brewers will have a pair of All-Star starters for the first time since 2014, as William Contreras and Christian Yelich were both selected after two rounds of voting.

Contreras beat out J.T. Realmuto for the start at catcher with 63% of the vote, while Yelich led all NL outfielders in the final round with 22% of the vote, beating out Jurickson Profar (20%), Fernando Tatis Jr. (16%), Teoscar Hernandez (15%), Brandon Marsh (14%), and Nick Castellanos (13%).

Contreras has been in MVP form for much of the season, hitting .292/.353/.445 (124 OPS+) with 10 homers, 51 RBIs, 59 runs, and five steals across 83 games. Yelich himself looks like his previous MVP self, hitting .329/.403/.500 (154 OPS+) with eight homers, 36 RBIs, 36 runs, and 19 steals in 60 games.

In other news, Brice Turang got off to a hot start and has stayed hot, matching manager Pat Murphy’s preseason “Quantum Leap” prediction as he’s hitting .287/.351/.412 (115 OPS+) with six homers, 38 RBIs, 41 runs, and 28 steals to add to his already strong defense.
