Recap: Summer Suns dominate the Summer Bucks, 115-90

The Phoenix Suns came out strong and did not look back in what was by far their most impressive game of the Summer League.

The Suns won by the score of 115-90 in dominant fashion. The Suns rookies were confident, and the team showed some chemistry with the ball moving around more than you’d see in your typical Summer League game.

1st Half Recap

Phoenix got off to a dominant start, leading 21-2 with 3:17 left in the quarter. The Bucks scored the first bucket of the game and were stampeded by a 21-0 Phoenix run.

Robert Franks scored 6 quick points, and the team was shooting lights out with 18 of those 21 coming from three-point range.

The Summer Bucks turned the ball over a lot. The Suns made a lot of threes and did not turn it over much early. That combination resulted in a 33-11 advantage after the first quarter.

Milwaukee punched back a bit in the 2nd quarter, showing signs of life offensively. Isaiah Wong gave Phoenix a strong push, pouring in 13 points (5-6 FG) in his first 11 minutes.

Oso had some nice flashes on both ends and was active on the glass and protecting the paint with two blocks in the first half. He also had this highlight:

Phoenix led 56-33 at the half. It was a dominant first half from start to finish. They had six players with 6 points or more.

2nd Half Recap

The third quarter was more of the same. Oso took flight again early, the Suns were defending and knocking down shots.

Phoenix led 78-52 with 3:45 in the 3rd, leading to a Bucks timeout after another turnover and transition bucket by the Summer Suns.

Phoenix led 86-62 after three quarters.

The 4th quarter of “garbage time” basketball continued to be all Suns. The announcers apparently got so bored they started talking about everything except the game in front of them.

Phoenix REALLY poured it on in the final moments, shoutout to Logan Johnson.
