Delaware Union to field team in United Women Soccer League Two

Delaware club joins Keystone FC, Lancaster Inferno and three other teams in the Mid-Atlantic Conference

Delaware Union will be joining the Mid-Atlantic Conference of the United Women Soccer League Two.

The local club was announced on Thursday along with Northern Virginia FC as new entries into the conference for the U23 reserve league for United Women Soccer.

“Delaware Union is excited for the opportunity to be a part of United Women’s Soccer League Two,” said Delaware Union Operations & Development Director and UWS League Two Head Coach Sebastian Acosta-Nijamkin. “This gives us the opportunity to expand our player pathway for our current players and also create opportunities for Union Alumni and local players to continue their development.”

Lancaster Inferno is fielding a reserve squad and Mechanicsburg-based Keystone FC will also have a team in the conference, which includes Annapolis United and Maryland Elite SC.

The Delaware Union was founded in 2014, but the organization’s roots go all the way back to 1983. The club is a merger between MOT Youth Soccer and Central Delaware Soccer Association and has been a staple of the Middletown, Smyrna and Dover communities for more than 25 years. UWS Two tryouts will be held in March and May. For more information, visit their official website at DelawareUnion.com and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
