Wizards - Cavaliers game on February 6 moved to TNT

For the second time this month, the NBA has announced it will flex a game featuring the Wizards into the national TV schedule.

The league announced on Friday it will be flexing the February 6th meeting between the Wizards and the Cavaliers at the Verizon Center to TNT. It replaces a Lakers-Knicks game that was originally set to be aired in that slot. The game will still be played at the original 7 p.m. airtime but will no longer be carried locally on CSN Mid-Atlantic due to the switch.

The switch means the Wizards will be featured quite a bit in the final build-up to the 2017 All-Star Game. The Wizards will host the Indiana Pacers on ESPN February 10th, and they will host the Thunder on February 13th, in a game that was flexed to TNT earlier this month. That’s three national TV games in an eight day span for Wizards, which is fairly remarkable considering they went into the season with only 5 national TV appearances on the schedule.

After this spurt, the Wizards still have national TV games on March 22nd against the Hawks on ESPN and April 10th against the Pistons on TNT. Of course, that’s all subject to change depending on how teams shake out as the season goes along. But if recent news is any indication, the Wizards will likely wind up gaining more national TV appearances than they lose.
