This trade works for the Heat because it gives the Heat a front court scoring option and creates a starting 5 of Rozier, Herro, Butler, Kuz, and Bam. Kuz is not Donovan Mitchell but he’s more affordable and gives the Heat a chance to stay competitive for another year. Kuz could be the missing piece of the puzzle and prevent the Heat from clearing house to bring in Mitchell.

The Wiz get Jovic who can fill in nicely for Kuz. He will have more opportunity to develop and he’s on the same timeline as Deni and Kispert. This draft isn’t great, but the Wiz could maybe package pick 15 and 26 to move up, or just have another swing at a prospect that could potentially hit and turn out to be a decent player.
