Wizards, Shamet agree to push back contract guarantee date to July 13

The Wizards will look to trade Shamet in the coming weeks

The Washington Wizards and guard Landry Shamet have agreed to push back his $11 million salary guarantee date to July 13, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski,

The deadline was originally set for Saturday, June 29, but the sides re-negotiated, giving Washington two weeks to find a trade partner.

If a suitable trade partner isn’t found, Washington is expected to guarantee Shamet’s $11 million salary for the 2024-25 season where they’d look to trade him at a later date.

After being dealt to Washington in the Bradley Beal trade last June, Shamet averaged 7.1 points per game on 33.8% 3pt.
