Here’s the Joe Hendry parody song about Elias you never knew you needed

North Wrestling via Joe Hendry’s YouTube

Joe Hendry’s taken the wrestling world by storm this year. The TNA star got his earworm of an entrance theme on the UK music charts, looks to have become a staple on WWE NXT, and tonight will challenge for his home promotion’s World title on PPV.

It wasn’t that long ago that another music-based act was on a similar hot streak. Now, Elias maybe wasn’t on the same trajectory as Hendry, but the then-WWE star did have enough heat to get booed out of the entire state of Washington back in 2018.

With Elias out working the indie scene as Elijah following his WWE release last fall and Hendry seemingly free to appear wherever his name is said, it was probably inevitable the two would cross paths. We’ll admit that with so many “dream matches” possible in this new era of collaboration between wrestling promotion, an Elijah/Hendry face-off wasn’t even on our wish list.

But based on the video going around of the pre-match set-up for their clash at last week’s North Wrestling Thunderstruck 2 show in England, it should have been.

It opens with Elijah singing about Hendry wanting to be him. Of course, when Joe’s name comes up in the Drifter’s lyrics, he pops up on the big screen with his own tune for not-really-Ezekiel...

Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah, I’ll be singing that all day, all day, singing that all day.

Anyway... according to Cagematch, that scene was followed by a match. Hendry won, of course. But if this video goes as viral as some of Joe’s other work has, we’re guessing Elijah will get another shot at him.
