New AEW Trios champs will be crowned on Collision

On last Saturday’s Collision, AEW made the curious decision to strip the Bang Bang Gang of their Unified Trios championship. We say curious, because we haven’t heard much before or since about the Jay White injury used as justification for the move, and because it wasn’t that long ago the promotion did a whole storyline about MJF defending the Ring of Honor Tag titles by himself when his partner was injured.

Anyway... the belts won’t be vacant for long. While collecting them, Interim EVP Christopher Daniels told the healthy members of the BBG — Juice Robinson and Austin & Colten Gunn — they’d get a chance to regain the championship by facing the man that injured White in storyline, Christian Cage, and his team, The Patriarchy.

And on the July 17 episode of Dynamite, we found that match will take place this Saturday on Collision.

Then after Wednesday’s show went off the air (at least on the east coast), Tony Khan also added the just-returned Darby Allin to the card:

It gives us this updated line-up for July 20’s live show, which will kick-off Collision and ROH’s residency at Arlington, Texas’ Esports Stadium:

  • Deonna Purrazzo vs. Thunder Rosa in a Lumberjack Match
  • Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & The Gunns) vs. The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne & Killswitch) for the vacant AEW Unified Trios championship
  • Skye Blue vs. Hikura Shida
  • Darby Allin vs. The Beast Mortos
  • The debut of Holo.grm
