The victims of a fatal crash on eastbound I-70, just east of the Avon 167 interchange in Colorado, have been identified.

On Saturday before 2 p.m., emergency services responded to a serious collision that involved two vehicles on the highway and resulted in two fatalities from one vehicle.

Two people from the second vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to the Vail Health Hospital for treatment.

The crash caused significant traffic delays along I-70 and closed the left lane for an investigation.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, a Ford Escape was stopped on the right shoulder as a Ford Bronco was headed eastbound on I-70 in the left lane. They crashed into each other when the Escape attempted to cross all lanes of traffic and make a U-turn through the median.
