Orioles' Ramon Urias: Not in lineup Friday
Urias is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Rangers.
He also was out of the lineup for the final game of the first half, as the Orioles will again go with Jordan Westburg at third base and Jorge Mateo at second. Urias had started five straight contests against right-handed pitching before sitting out this one.

Orioles' Ethan Anderson: Agrees to terms with Baltimore
The Orioles signed Anderson on Friday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
The club announced the signing of both Anderson and Griff O'Ferrall, who were teammates at Virginia and now will enter the Orioles' system together. Anderson is a switch hitter who will be developed as a catcher, but he could ultimately wind up at another position.

Orioles' Griff O'Ferrall: Agrees to deal with Baltimore
The Orioles signed O'Ferrall on Friday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Per Jim Callis of MLB.com, O'Ferrall -- the No. 32 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft -- will receive a signing bonus of $2.7 million. A shortstop from the University of Virginia, O'Ferrall could move quickly through the system but may not hit for enough power to be an everyday player in the majors.

Orioles' Ryan Stafford: Headed to Baltimore
The Orioles have selected Stafford with the 160th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
Stafford won't be unseating Adley Rutschman, but it'd be an accomplishment if the catcher from Cal Poly even has to worry about being blocked at the highest level. Stafford's best tools are related to his defense behind the plate, and he has below-average power, so there's not much to get excited about from a fantasy standpoint.

Orioles' Chase Allsup: Popped by O's
The Orioles have selected Allsup with the 127th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
Allsup has a big 6-foot-2, 235-pound frame and throws hard, sitting 94-96 mph with his fastball (touching 100 mph). The burly righty throws four pitches but has struggled to put it all together. He had a 5.11 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in three years at Auburn.

Orioles' Austin Overn: Lands with Baltimore
The Orioles have selected Overn with the 97th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
A two-sport athlete at USC, Overn eventually gave up football in 2023 to focus on baseball. The outfielder has elite speed which he displays both on the basepaths and in center field, and while he's shown little game-day power, his defensive profile is good enough to potentially get him to the majors. If the Orioles can unlock some thump in his bat, he could prove to be a bargain in the third round.

Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Notches third steal
Mountcastle went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.
Mountcastle's steal was his third of the year, putting him one shy of matching his career high. The first baseman's speed isn't notable, but he's been steady at the plate, going 10-for-40 (.250) over 10 contests in July. Overall, he's slashing .271/.311.,447 with 12 home runs, 43 RBI, 44 runs scored, 22 doubles and a triple through 88 games this season.

Orioles' Anthony Santander: Clubs homer in win
Santander went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a triple in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.
Santander is 13-for-46 (.283) with five extra-base hits and three RBI over 12 contests in July. It was always reasonable to expect that he'd take a step back in the power department after slugging 13 homers in June. For the season, the outfielder is slashing .237/.301/.503 with 24 long balls, 58 RBI, 49 runs scored, 16 doubles and two triples over 91 games.
