  • Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Kicks off rehab assignment

Zastryzny (elbow) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, striking out a batter while allowing two walks and one hit over a scoreless inning in his first appearance.

Zastryzny may require another appearance or two in the minors before the Brewers bring him back from the 15-day injured list. Before being deactivated July 26 due to left elbow tendinitis, Zastryzny made nine appearances for the Brewers and posted a 1.17 ERA, 0.65 WHIP and 5:1 K:BB across 7.2 innings.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Ready to face hitters

Megill (back) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Monday, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Megill will head out on a rehab assignment if all goes well during Monday's throwing session. The right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list July 29 due to a lower-back strain and likely won't need more than one or two tune-up outings in the minors before rejoining the Milwaukee bullpen. Megill leads the Brewers with 20 saves on the season, but he'll likely have to settle for setup work moving forward after closer Devin Williams returned July 28 from a season-long stay on the IL.

  • Brewers' Enoli Paredes: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Brewers transferred Paredes (forearm) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

The transaction clears room on the 40-man roster for southpaw DL Hall (knee), who was activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday versus the Reds. Paredes was initially placed on the IL on July 3 with right forearm tendinitis and won't be eligible to rejoin the Milwaukee bullpen until early September.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Getting day off against lefty

Mitchell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

After starting each of Milwaukee's last six games, the lefty-hitting Mitchell will head to the bench as Cincinnati sends southpaw Nick Lodolo to the mound. Blake Perkins will take Mitchell's spot in the outfield and will bat sixth.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Idle against lefty

Turang is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

The lefty-hitting Turang will retreat to the bench for the series finale while southpaw Nick Lodolo takes the hill for Cincinnati. Jackson Chourio will assume leadoff duties Sunday, while Andruw Monasterio takes Turang's usual spot in the field at second base.

  • Brewers' Jake Bauers: Out of lineup vs. lefty

Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

With southpaw Nick Lodolo on the bump for Cincinnati, the lefty-hitting Bauers will stick on the bench for the second day in a row. Bauers' absence will free up a spot in the lineup for Gary Sanchez, who will serve as the Brewers' catcher while William Contreras gets a day off behind the plate and draws a start at designated hitter.

  • Brewers' Hoby Milner: Lands on injured list

The Brewers placed Milner on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a left shoulder impingement.

It's unclear when the injured surfaced for Milner, but manager Pat Murphy noted that the southpaw was experiencing a loss of range of motion and strength, according to Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin. The injury likely contributed to Milner's recent struggles, as he had surrendered five runs over two frames in his last two outings. The left-hander will be eligible to be reinstated in late August, though it's unclear how long he's expected to be sidelined.

  • Brewers' DL Hall: Activated, starting Sunday

The Brewers reinstated Hall (knee) from the 60-day injured list Sunday, and he'll start in Milwaukee's series finale with Cincinnati.

Milwaukee already has five healthy starters, so unless manager Pat Murphy plans to expand the rotation to six men, Hall could be headed to the bullpen following Sunday's outing, which will be his first with the big club since April 20. Before landing on the IL with as left knee sprain, Hall's spot in the rotation may have already been on thin ice, as he submitted a 7.71 ERA and 2.27 WHIP across 16.1 innings over his four starts with the big club this season. The left-hander displayed better form over the final three outings of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville, logging a 2.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB across 13 innings. Hall topped out at five innings and 76 pitches during his rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be operating under any workload restrictions Sunday.

  • Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Secures win with homer

Hoskins went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 1-0 win against the Reds.

The game was a pitcher's duel from start to finish, as the teams combined for just five hits, no walks and one run. Hoskins accounted for both the only extra-base hit and the only run of the matchup with his solo shot in the eighth inning. The long ball was his 20th of the campaign, an amount he's reached in each of his five full MLB campaigns. The slugger has gone deep five times over his past 13 contests.

  • Brewers' Devin Williams: Notches first save of season

Williams earned a save against the Reds on Saturday, striking out all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Williams was activated from the injured list Sunday and had to wait six days to get his first save chance. The right-hander's opportunity Saturday wasn't an easy one, as he faced the heart of Cincinnati's order with just a one-run lead. Williams wasn't phased by any pressure, as he struck out the side on 18 pitches. Trevor Megill was excellent as Milwaukee's closer during most of the time Williams was out and is approaching a return from a back injury, but he's going to slide back into a setup role upon his activation. Williams has already shown that he's back in fine form, allowing just one run over four innings while posting an 8:1 K:BB through four outings.

  • Brewers' Tobias Myers: Superb in no-decision

Myers pitched 7.1 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out nine batters, in a no-decision against Cincinnati on Saturday.

Myers and Reds starter Nick Martinez both shined in the outing -- neither gave up a run, and the hurlers combined to allow just four hits over 14.1 frames. Three of those hits were surrendered by Myers, but none went for extra bases, and he notched a season-high nine punchouts to Martinez's seven. Myers has now allowed just two runs over 16.1 frames across his past three starts, but he doesn't have a win to show for it. Nonetheless, he's more than solidified his spot in the rotation since returning from a short stint in the minors June 5. Across 11 starts since that date, the right-hander has posted a sparkling 1.75 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 67 frames.

  • Brewers' Jake Bauers: Sitting Saturday

Bauers is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Despite Cincinnati sending right-hander Nick Martinez to the mound, the lefty-hitting Bauers will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout. Rhys Hoskins will shift to first base while Gary Sanchez serves as the designated hitter.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Goes yard in win

Turang went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 8-3 win versus the Reds.

The Milwaukee second baseman cracked his seventh homer of the season in the second inning off Carson Spiers, a 383-foot blast to left center. This marks Turang's first homer since hitting a grand slam against the Cubs on June 30. Perhaps this long ball will invigorate the slumping 24-year-old, as he entered this contest hitting .164 (10-for-61) with no extra-base hits since the All-Star break.

  • Brewers' Willy Adames: Slugs 21st homer

Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Friday's 8-3 victory over Cincinnati.

The Milwaukee shortstop opened the game's scoring with a 391-foot blast off Carson Spiers in the first frame, Adames' second consecutive game with a homer. This marks his sixth homer since the All-Star break as he's hitting .285 (20-for-70) with 13 runs scored and 12 RBI over his last 18 games. Overall, the 28-year-old sports a .252/.335/.457 slash line with 65 runs scored and 79 RBI across 499 plate appearances.

  • Brewers' Aaron Civale: Tallies first win with new club

Civale (3-8) earned the win Friday against the Reds, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

The 29-year-old righty picked up his fifth quality start of the season with this 93-pitch effort. He had been cruising up until the seventh inning, when the Reds laced three consecutive hits, starting with a leadoff Spencer Steer homer. Cincinnati ran into an out at the plate on the third hit, a double, and then manager Pat Murphy lifted Civale. After arriving in a trade from Tampa Bay on July 3, he has pitched to a 4.88 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB over 31.1 innings. Civale currently lines up to face the Dodgers at home for his next start.

  • Brewers' J.B. Bukauskas: Removed from rehab appearance

Bukauskas (triceps) was removed from his rehab appearance at Triple-A Nashville on Friday after getting hit by a comebacker, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Bukauskas took a 98 mph line drive off his arm and had to leave the game after facing just one batter. The 27-year-old righty was making his fourth appearance at Triple-A since resuming his rehab assignment in late July, but his time in the minors figured to be extended as a result of his latest injury.
