Derby City Gaming & Hotel Makes Impactful $10,000 Donation to Roots 101 African American Museum

LOUISVILLE, KY., (April 04, 2024) – Derby City Gaming & Hotel (“DCG”) celebrated the start of Spring by generously donating $10,393 to local Louisville, Kentucky museum, Roots 101 African American Museum. The donation will directly support the non-profit museums various initiatives and mission to promote the understanding and inspire appreciation of the achievements, contributions and experiences of African Americans. All donation funds were raised through DCG’s on property Donation Stations located throughout the facility where guests can donate their uncashed Tito tickets and spare change to support a designated charitable organization throughout the year.

Founded in 2020 by Louisville native Lamont Collins, the Roots 101 African American Museum is a space where visitors can see themselves in history, explore the African American story in its entirety, and gain a greater understanding of the achievements, cultural contributions, and experiences of the African American community. Lamont and the entire team at Roots 101 African American Museum strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages learning, reflection and connection.
