The Cincinnati Bengals are gearing up for the 2024 NFL season and the team had quite a few impressive draft picks a few months ago.

The Bengals grabbed Amarius Mims in the first round, which was a massive selection for the protection of Joe Burrow. However, the team drafted what could prove to be an absolute steal in the third round.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Jermaine Burton was the third-round selection, and Pro Football Focus believes it was the most important pick of the draft.

With Tyler Boyd's departure, Burton will bring a young and incredibly athletic presence to the WR3 position behind Chase and Higgins.

Pro Football Focus head of football product Steve Palazzolo recently discussed the Burton selection on The Growler podcast with Paul Dehner Jr.

“Jermaine Burton, my favorite draft pick in the entire draft,” Palazzolo said. “I think he was the fourth-best receiver in the draft.”

Palazzolo went on to say, “He can be the most important draft pick in this draft class for any team if he’s as good as I think he is, and other people around the league think he is, but they just have to figure out keeping him in line, because he can be a special player to go to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.”

After watching Burton's film, Palazzolo has become a huge fan. He says Burton brings incredible athleticism and explosiveness to the Bengals' already talented offense.

If Burton is able to produce well at the professional level, the 80th overall pick in the draft will be a special player for the Bengals for years to come.
