Homer the dog off to early lead in Cleveland’s Cutest Holiday Pet photo contest (vote hourly until Dec. 19)

CLEVELAND, Ohio – We are one day into voting in the finals of Cleveland’s Cutest Holiday Pet photo contest and the voting margins are tight.

As of Friday at 9:30 a.m., Homer the dog is leading the pack with 18.7 percent of total votes cast. Belle the dog is in second place at 15.1 percent.

Dogs Rory (12.8 percent), Harley (11.4 percent) and Matilda (11.4 percent) round out the top five. There are five other pets -- including a cat, mouse and horse -- vying for your votes to help them win the ultimate title.

These adorable pets, who have donned their most festive outfits for the holidays, were chosen by cleveland.com readers from the field of 97 contestants in the first round.

You can vote in the poll below once each hour. The poll will remain open until Dec. 19 at noon. Remember, only votes cast within the United States will be counted.
