What they’re saying

Oilers captain Connor McDavid:

“You spend your life working to get into a position like this...You think that when you’re here it’s going to be some magic feeling, magic, I don’t know. You don’t know what to expect. To be honest, it’s all been pretty normal. This has always been part of the plan for our group, to be in a position like this, playing big games at home in big moments. Just another one tomorrow night.”

Oilers forward Corey Perry on McDavid:

“He lets his play do the talking...What Connor’s doing, he’s put this team on his back and really led by example. The guy’s on a mission, and we’re right there following him.”

Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov:

“It’s another great challenge for us going into Edmonton...Another long trip, so we get to spend a lot of time together on the plane and in the hotel. We can’t wait to get playing again tomorrow.”

Panthers coach Paul Maurice on how his team is handling the pressure:

“I’m more comfortable. I understand the feeling of 3-2 because most series are like that; 3-0 is more of an aberration, isn’t it? Pressure. I think we think about these things possibly differently and I’m not sure I would agree with the assessment that the pressure has shifted so heavily to us.”
