EDMONTON, Alberta - The Oilers and Panthers will play what could be a decisive Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final tonight. With the Panthers leading the best-of-seven series 3-0, this could be the end of the season.

Leon Draisaitl had 28 points through the Edmonton Oilers’ first three rounds of the playoffs, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had 20 and Zach Hyman had 18. Through the first three games of the Stanley Cup Final, they have not a single goal or assist between them.

That lack of production is a big reason the Oilers are down 3-0 in the series and searching for answers as they look to avoid being the first team swept in the final since the Washington Capitals in 1998.

What they’re saying

Oilers’ Zach Hyman on the Panthers.

“They’re doing a good job. Give their goalie credit, but there’s no excuses. This is the time of year where there aren’t any excuses. ... You got to be able to bear now when you have a chance, but I think that the looks are there.”

Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk on a potential sweep.

“We’ve done such a good job of having that one-game, simple mindset: Win your first period, win your first few shifts,” winger Matthew Tkachuk said Friday. “Just a really calm, kind of chill and relaxed group today. Use that to our advantage.”

Oilers’ Adam Henrique on being down 3-0 previously in his career.

“When everybody writes you off, you believe in the group in here. It’s certainly a big hill to climb, but you don’t look at the whole picture. You look at taking those first couple steps, get that first one and go from there. It’s a challenge that we’re certainly up to.”

Panthers’ Aleksander Barkov on being one win away from the Stanley Cup.

“We never think too much ahead. It’s there for us, but you don’t think about it. You can’t think about it. All you have to do is take one moment at a time.”
