SUNRISE, Fla. — The Florida Panthers will try to shake off a blowout loss in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final to the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night when the series shifts back to Florida for Game 5. Puck drop is at 8 p.m. Eastern.

The Oilers kept their faint hopes alive with an 8-1 rout of the Panthers on Saturday night to get on the board in the series. Connor McDavid scored his first goal of the series, and he also added three assists. Edmonton also chased Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky in the second period, scoring five goals on 16 shots on Bobrovsky.

Florida still leads the series, 3-1. The Panthers have only lost two games on home ice in the postseason.

Should the Oilers win Game 5, the Stanley Cup Final will go back to Edmonton again for Game 6 on Friday night.

What they’re saying

Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch after Game 4:

“We definitely got the goal-scoring...We were able to put the puck in the net. It was just an amount of time that it was going to happen. But I don’t know. Overall, I thought it was pretty good, I guess.”

Oilers center Connor McDavid:

“It’s just one win. That’s all it is, whether you score eight or you score one. It’s just one win. We’ve got to go to Florida and do a job and drag them back to Alberta.”

Panthers coach Paul Maurice:

“You’re never in a comfortable position in the playoffs. You’ve earned your wins. You’ve earned your losses. It’s the same feeling. Every playoff loss feels the same. Maybe other people get comfortable. I haven’t had that for 30 years. You’re never comfortable. Which is good, right? Just got to harness it.”

Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk on the struggles of Sergei Bobrovsky in Game 4:

“It had nothing to do with ‘Bob,’...It was more of a wake-up call to everybody. We know he’s going to come back better than ever.”
