Witness to store shoplifting chases suspects: Brunswick Hills Township Police Blotter

BRUNSWICK HILLS TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Theft, Center Road: Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Drug Mart at 5270 Center Road at 8:11 a.m. Nov. 29. A witness told police that he saw the suspect get out of a white Buick with Florida plates, go into the store, then come back out carrying a blue store basket. Another man later came out of the store carrying several items, and both men left in the white Buick.

The witness followed the car into Valley City before losing sight of it after the driver made a U-turn. The witness added that he tried to stop when the suspect made the U-turn, but struck the suspect's car. He was only able to get a portion of the license plate number.

Another witness at the store was able to give police a physical description of the suspects and surveillance footage showed the theft in progress. There was no further information at the time of the report.

Drug paraphernalia, Pearl Road: A man was cited for drug paraphernalia possession at 8:43 p.m. Nov. 27 when police responded to his apartment on a drug overdose call. The man was found in a chair, unresponsive, and regained consciousness after being administered two doses of Naloxone. Police found a receipt for the narcotics taken by the man, along with a hypodermic needle, in his pocket.

Animal complaint, Kenton Lane: A resident called police at 1:24 p.m. Nov. 28 and reported that her friend had been attacked and bitten by a dog belonging to the caller's fiance. Reports said the victim's only visible injury was a small bruise on her arm.

The victim said the dog "mouthed" her right arm and jumped on her, putting its paws on her shoulders. The dog reportedly does not know the victim.

The officer advised that the dog be quarantined in the home for 10 days. A report of the incident was forwarded to the Medina County Health Department.

Drug possession, Foskett Road: A driver was pulled over at 10:23 p.m. Nov. 29 for running a stop sign. The officer smelled marijuana during the stop, and a plastic bag of suspected marijuana was found in the center console. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana and was released.
