Maple Heights man wanted for robbing Cleveland Heights bank

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS -- An arrest warrant has been issued for a Maple Heights man police say robbed the US Bank on Lee Road the morning of Dec. 13.

Cetric Sumpter, 39, entered the bank, 2211 Lee Road, at approximately 9:45 a.m., and demanded money from a teller, according to Cleveland Heights Police Chief Jeff Robertson. The teller complied, and Sumpter fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount.

Sumpter did not display a firearm, nor claim to have a weapon during the robbery, Robertson said.

Robertson declined to say how Sumpter was identified as the perpetrator.

Sumpter is not to be approached, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Cleveland Heights police at 911 or 216-321-1234.
