Man breaks out window of his own car during fight: Brunswick Police Blotter

BRUNSWICK, Ohio --- Disorderly conduct, Laurel Road: Police were called to a parking lot in the 4400 block of Laurel Road at 12:43 a.m. March 21 for a man seen “pounding on a car and yelling.” Police found a man and a woman at the scene when they arrived. The man admitted to shouting at the woman and breaking out the window of his own car. He was cited for disorderly conduct and both were released at the scene.

Drug abuse, Southwick Boulevard: Police investigated a car parked in a fire lane at 1:04 a.m. March 21. A man and a woman were found sleeping inside the car and police smelled the odor of marijuana. A probable cause search turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The couple was cited for drug abuse and marijuana paraphernalia possession. The owner of the car, who was not listed in reports as being at the scene, was also cited for the parking violation.

Falsification, Center Road: A driver was cited for providing false information to an officer following a traffic stop at 1:07 a.m. March 19. The driver was pulled over and cited for having illegally tinted windows. Police later found that the driver had given them false information about the whereabouts of another person, who had a felony warrant out of the Medina County Sheriff’s office. The driver was arrested on the falsification charge when it was discovered by police.

Theft, Center Road: A security guard at Giant Eagle called police to report a theft at 6:15 March 5. Surveillance footage showed the suspect stealing $35.47 worth of "lice treatments and shampoo," reports said. Giant Eagle management pressed theft and criminal trespassing charges.

Drug possession, Center Road: A driver was cited for marijuana possession and taken to the Medina County Jail at 5:54 p.m. March 18 after being pulled over for making an improper left turn from South Carpenter Road onto Center Road. Police smelled marijuana inside the car during the stop and marijuana was later found. Both the driver and his passenger were cited for possession and the driver was turned over to Medina County Sheriff’s deputies on and outstanding warrant.
